Awareness of Seeing April 2026

Awareness of Seeing was my final project for the Post-Baccalorate Visual Art, University of Regina.
The project consisted of eight prints of the grotesques found at the University of Saskatchewan.

Printmaking is a appealing process in creating the matrix, the inking, presswork and printmaking machines. Printing multiples of an edition, making his art accessible to a larger audience, and he has long seen the value of print communication. Printmaking techniques used by Blackmore include intaglio, relief, silkscreen, letterpress and stone lithography. Gordon has been fascinated with printmaking, from high school mimeograph to laser and inkjet party invites and business communication. In his current work, the paper's role is more than the image holder; it becomes part of the colour and texture of the artwork.
